Class of Housing: Shelter for women and children

General Information:
The Dorothy Day House is a neighborhood shelter for at risk women and children sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Syracuse Diocese. Provides a 24 hour emergency shelter for women and women with children who are homeless or housing vulnerable. Support services include advocacy, crisis counseling, casework, support groups, referral and assistance with relocation. Eligibility: Women of any age; families with male children older than 10 are determined case by case.   All referrals through Department of Social Services, Civic Center or the CNY Helpline (Dial 2-1-1) evenings and weekends; assistance is available to help you move on to longer-term living arrangements.
