General Information:
Street2Feet is a homeless resource center for the homeless and homeless at risk population of Monroe county Pennsylvania. We are open Monday-Friday 10a-2p & Saturday 9a-12p. Street2Feet is part of RHD's Crossroads Community Services and, with the financial support of the Emergencies Solutions Grant, serves the homeless population of Monroe County. This grant provides half of the funding necessary for us to function and requires that the other half is provided elsewhere such as by the local community, and supporting donors. Services include case management; linkage to mental health services; linkage to Drug & Alcohol services; medical clinic; dental clinic; GED instruction; and vocational support. The population served ranges from those in risk of homelessness to actively homeless, including up to six months of ongoing support once housed. Street2Feet is also the referral source for the Transitional Housing Program. The Transitional Housing Program is a two year rental assistance program for low income homeless individuals which helps them establish residency and ultimately take over the financial obligation of the housing.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Read the descriptions of each of the transitional living locations for more detailed information. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
