General Information:
Residential halfway house for women. Discovery Outreach is a halfway house for women who are dedicated to recovery from addiction and or alcoholism located in Sheffield, Alabama. Discovery provides a safe home-like environment for women who are struggling with addiction or alcoholism. Our main goal is to help women who are alcoholic or addict recover from their spiritual malody and re-enter back in to society. Discovery Outreach also provides means to assistive services such as, applying for disability and foodstamps, and in-house meetings. While we provide the tools and means to recover from addiction and live a successful life, rather or not a client chooses to use them, however, depends on the individual. There is a cost for services. This is not free.

Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
