Class of Housing/Services: Recovery house for men

General Information:
The Thirteen Step House, Inc. is a 501-C3 Not for Profit Organization. We are a self-supporting recovery house for men. We can house up to 42 men in four houses in the West Central Historic District of Fort Wayne. The Thirteen Step House Inc. has been serving the greater Fort Wayne area since 1968 by offering a supportive, clean and safe environment for men struggling to recover from alcoholism and other substance abuse. Our purpose is to encourage a change in lifestyle that will return these men to their prospective communities and homes as productive, law abiding, spouses, parents, employees and honest substance free members of society. Our residents usually arrive on a downward spiral. Some have lost everything. They are severed from their families, employers, and some are experiencing legal problems. At one time many of the gentlemen that have ended up here were assets in our society and are definitely salvageable. By demonstrating through our own lives structure, discipline, practicing the principles set forth by the 12 Step Recovery Programs, and also encouraging a spiritual belief, we feel that we can help these men learn to live their lives back to success.
