Substance abuse treatment, Halfway house for men. Residential long-term treatment (more than 30 days). Must be: 18 years of age Alcohol or substance abuse diagnosis Unable to remain abstinent within the community Willing to follow recovery program Not in active psychiatric episodes and under control with medications Must be ambulatory PAYMENT: Public Assistance, SSI, SSD, and Sliding Fee scale. The Community Residence (Ivy House) is the third step of the treatment continuum of care for those recovering from alcohol and chemical dependency after detoxification and inpatient rehabilitation. ADDS’ Ivy House Community Residence provides affordable, quality addiction treatment services in a structured and supportive environment enabling the residents to pursue educational, vocational or other identified rehabilitation goals. All services are provided by professional and experienced staff. The program offers a safe, secure homelike environment which is alcohol and substance free. There are social and professional supports provided within the program as well as linkage throughout the community. Nutritious family style meals are served daily to develop and reinforce socialization skills. The resident cooking/training program also teaches good nutrition and independent living skills. Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
Oftentimes halfway houses also assist in the treatment of substance abuse and/or alcohol and drug detox. Speak with the halfway house to see if this applies.
