Class of Housing: Transitional Housing

General Information:

LIFT seeks to assist homeless families with dependent children or those at imminent risk of becoming homeless due to an impending eviction. Provides intensive case management, life-skills training, and housing for a period of 18-24 months.
Eligibility: Madison County resident; homeless or about to become homeless; at least one person employed with verifiable income; ability to pass a criminal background check; and the desire to become self-sufficient by programs end.
Services: Transitional Housing and Shelter.
Overview: Non-profit agency providing comprehensive, prevention-based family support programs and professional counseling to residents of North Alabama and South Central Tennessee.
Site hours: Monday - Thurs 8AM-6PM. Fri 8AM-12PM.

The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.
