Class of Housing/Services: shelter for homeless mothers and their children

General Information:
The St. Pauls Center helps by providing:     Emergency housing for homeless mothers and their children in a 19-bed shelter.     Support and services to help families move on to independent living. This is a non profit organization. Residents housed at our shelter receive support and services in the areas of:             Counseling             Parenting             Homemaking             Budgeting             Pediatric and maternal health care             Mental health             Substance abuse             Domestic violence             Education             Job training and placement             Permanent housing   Once a family has moved on to permanent housing, the St. Paul’s Center Staff continues to offer assistance and support for one year to help the family succeed in independent living through the Bridges Program and our full-time Transitional Client Advocate. Through our Bridges Program, our Transitional Client Advocate helps mothers negotiate life after shelter by:             Advocacy             Landlord dispute intervention             Navigating the court system             Obtaining social services             Obtaining counseling services services Our Angel Fund is the product of our many generous donations from the community.  The Angel Fund provides:             Emergency rent, utility, phone payments             Bus or taxi fare             Obtaining legal documents             Transportation home to other states             Purchase of household items to help set up new apartments (items not available through donations)             Application fees for school             School clothes and supplies for children             Storage for personal belongings until an apartment is secured             Subsidized day care
