CAMBA has 20 years’ experience providing services to reduce homelessness in New York City. Working in partnership with the Department of Homeless Services and other leaders in government and the private sector, CAMBA has established a reputation for developing a continuum of services that rapidly moves homeless families and single adults, including those at risk of homelessness, to housing permanency. â€‹
CAMBA’s seven homeless shelters – five for adults and two for families – provide emergency housing and supportive services to over 8,000 people each year.
Services include three meals a day, shower and laundry facilities, access to clothing, storage for client belongings, mail and telephone services, case management, recreational activities, medical and mental health services, substance abuse treatment, referrals to rehabilitation facilities and other services to assist clients in the transition to permanent housing.
CAMBA also operates a drop-in center that provides provides food and services to homeless adults during the day and volunteer-run overnight beds in churches and synagogues.
