Review the details below: In 1974, A Forward-Looking Group Of Local Leaders Recognized That The Community Needed To Empower Low Income Individuals To Achieve Their Potential By Protecting Their Human Rights, Securing Justice And Providing Multi-Lingual Advocacy, Education, Counseling And Access To The Legal System For Those Who Were Traditionally Unrepresented. This Dream Became A Reality With The Founding Of The Law Foundation In May 1974. Initially, The Law Foundation's Sole Project Was Public Interest Law. In 1978, With The Establishment Of The Mental Health Advocacy Project, The Scope Expanded To Become An Umbrella Organization Offering A Variety Of Services. Today The Law Foundation Of Silicon Valley Programs Include Legal Advocates For Children And Youth, Fair Housing Law Project, Aids Legal Services, The Mental Health Advocacy Project And Public Interest Law. With The Expansion Of Services, Came A Diversification Of The Organizations Funding Base To Include Individual And Corporate Donors, Special Events, Foundations, Organizations, And Federal, State And Local Government Support.
