Grand Valley's only family homeless shelter. HomewardBound of the Grand Valley is a non-profit organization that strengthens Mesa County by providing critical housing, compassionate services and safe shelter for individuals and families. Download Conditions of Stay Intake Schedule for Families: 4:30 p.m.     Permitted to be on Property 5:00 pm     Check-in/Intake 5:00 – 6:00 pm     Family Shower Time 5:00 – 6:00 pm     Dinner is Served 9:00 pm     Lights Out on Family Wing 6:30 am     Wake Up 6:45 am     Breakfast is Served 8:00 am     All Residents Exit the Building Intake Schedule for Singles: 5:30 pm     Permitted to be on Property 6:00 pm     Check-in/Intake 6:00 – 7:00 pm     Dinner is Served 10:30 pm     Lights Out, Lobby Closed, Limited Smoking Area 6:30 am     Wake Up 6:45 am     Breakfast is Served 8:00 am     All Residents Exit the Building     The Family Transitional Program provides families who are homeless in Mesa County assistance in finding stable and affordable housing, job training, educational opportunities and a host of other individually tailored services that assist them in transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The program has limited openings which provide assistance for 12 families each year.  To be eligible one must meet the following criteria:     Be homeless     Be a family (have children in custody or be in at least the 3rd trimester of pregnancy     Be willing to have case management with weekly home visits     Have the desire and motivation to move out of homelessness

Emergency Homeless Shelters both provide short term relief for the homeless and low income persons. Usually there is a maximum stay of 3 months or less. Many of these shelters ask their clients to leave during the day. Meals and other supportive services are often offered. 3 times out of 5 these shelters offer their services free of charge.
