Hours: M-F, 8:30am - 5pm. Solid Ground’s residential facilities provide emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and comprehensive case management for formerly homeless families and individuals. Beyond providing roofs over heads, we strive to connect residents with the resources and support they need to identify and achieve their goals. Beyond providing roofs over heads, we strive to connect residents with the resources and support they need to identify and achieve their goals. Family Shelter Family Shelter provides short-term housing in furnished apartments for families and single-parent households (headed by mothers or fathers) with children 18 and younger, and can accommodate large or extended families. Support services, comprehensive case management, and housing search assistance helps families stay connected to their schools, jobs and other community resources and support systems. Our primary program goal is to help families find more permanent housing as quickly as possible.   Sand Point Housing Our Sand Point Housing campus provides transitional housing, affordable permanent housing, and onsite support services for formerly homeless families and individuals. The stunning campus, located in Seattle’s Magnuson Park near Lake Washington, is on land that was surplussed by the U.S. Navy. It includes historic renovated buildings and new construction totaling 175 townhomes and apartments.

Helpful Definitions For Solid Ground Emergency Shelter & Transitional Housing:
Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Read the descriptions of each of the transitional living locations for more detailed information. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
