General Information:
For homeless families who have no resources or support systems to fall back on, emergency shelter is their last and only hope. Always Home operates the only family shelter in Connecticut east of the Thames River. Our apartment-style shelter unit is fully furnished and can sleep a family of up to 6. While in shelter, families work closely with Always Home's case manager to develop an individualized housing stabilization plan that helps them regain their sense of direction. The average shelter stay is 30 days or less, after which families are rapidly re-housed to independent housing.
