Provides counseling, referrals to other community agencies, education on the dynamics of domestic violence, court advocacy, legal options, and support groups for in-shelter clients. Out of shelter services include court advocacy, physical abuse and emotional abuse support groups, case management and referrals for victims who do not need shelter but request supportive services. Serves Madison, Morgan, Limestone, and Jackson Counties. No fees for service.
Clients must be 19 years of age or older, or 18 and married.
24 hour per day shelter residency for victims and their children. Location of facility is confidential.

Day Shelters supplement homeless and low-income people when the shelter their staying in only offers shelter on an overnight basis. Case management is often provided and sometimes there are laundry and shower facilities. Meals and basic hygiene may also be offered. Almost all day shelters provide their services free of charge.
