Class of Housing/Services: emergency shelter serving men, women, and families

General Information:
Alexandria Community Shelter is a partnership funded by the City of Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services' Office of Community Services. Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.     64 bed year round emergency shelter serving men, women, and families providing housing-focused case management, education training, job training, referral services, and behavioral health treatment services. VOAC offers case management services to all clients and assists with developing an individualized plan to address financial stability, increasing employment, assessing for housing type, and assists with how clients can remain permanently housed. The shelter is co-located with the DCHS' Substance Abuse Outpatient and Detoxification programs. If you or someone you know is experiencing a housing crisis in the City of Alexandria, please contact the Homeless Services Assessment Center (HSAC) by calling 703-746-5700 or through walk-in at 2525 Mt. Vernon Avenue Alexandria VA 22303. HSAC's hours of operation is Monday through Friday 8 AM -5 PM.
