Class of Housing/Services: Overnight Shelter for men and women and Day Room.

General Information:
Overnight Shelter for men and women and Day Room. There is no minimum or maximum length of stay in Open Door Mission's men's or women's Shelter. Provides: Shower facilities, Laundry Facilities, Meals, resource advocacy This approach helps people make necessary connections and changes at their own pace. Case management and wrap-around services (including on-site mental health services) are offered to all guests. Guests are also offered participation in the Growth Track program which Open Door is developing. Step 1 -- Saved-making choices that will keep them from chronic illness, and physical and spiritual death Step 2 -- Sober-no longer controlled by stimulants or depressants; Step 3 -- Stable-mentally and emotionally balanced Step 4 -- Skilled-being academically credentialed or receiving workforce development training that will set participants on a career path Step 5 -- Secure-able to provide financially for themselves and their loved ones Step 6 -- Settled-benefiting from having a safe place of their own Step 7 -- Serving-giving back to the community Residents have often noted the cleanliness of Open Door Mission's facility and the caring atmosphere. Their goal is to walk alongside their residents through the process of moving out of poverty into self sufficiency. During COVID-19, sanitizing and PPE protocols in accordance with New York state law are in place.
