Class of Housing/Services: Day shelter that provides mail, phone messages, and showers, transitional housing programs.

General Information:
Day shelter that provides mail, phone messages, and showers.   Hours: Mondays through Fridays 6:10am to 6pm. Saturdays, Sundays 6:10am to 5:30pm.   Day services are closed from 12:00 – 3:15 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of each month for staff meetings, and twice annually for staff retreats. Mail: anyone may receive mail at SFC. A government-issued photo ID is required to pick-up mail. Mail is kept for 7 days, after which time is it returned to its sender     Mail Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:15 – 4:00 (3rd Wednesday of each month, 7:15- 12:00)     Saturday-Sunday, 8:30 – 12:00 Storage: SFC provides storage for 550 people, and is available for guests as long as needed, but must be renewed every 30 days. Storage is limited to personal belongings that will fit into a 30-gallon plastic bag. New storage spaces are given out on a first-come, first-served basis Monday-Friday     Storage Hours (access to existing storage): Monday-Friday, 7:15 – 4:00 (3rd Wednesday, 8:00 – 12:00)     Saturday-Sunday, 8:30 – 12:00 Supplemental Storage: SFC’s Employment Office now provides additional storage spaces for our guests located at 1630 E 14th Ave. You may only have a storage space at one location. Size, limitations, and distribution are the same as our main storage, however the hours are slightly different.     Storage Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am  – 3:00 pm (3rd Wednesday, 8:00 – 12:00)     Storage access is not yet available on weekends     Call to update your storage: 720-420-4072 Clothing: Access to the clothing room is offered in exchange for performing a cleaning chore. Chores are assigned and performed at specific times each morning, afternoon, and evening Cell Phone Charging: Guests may charge a cell phone at SFC. Phones are checked in and out, and kept secure Notary: Notary services are available at SFC. A government-issued photo ID is required Other: SFC has clothing irons, shoe polish, games, hair dryers and curling irons, books and magazines for guests to use and enjoy Meals: Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen prepares and serves a meal at 3:00 on Wednesday and Friday (no meal served the 3rd Wednesday of each month) Social Services Programs & Services Hours     Monday – Thursday, 8:00a.m. – 2:00 p.m.     Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Finding oneself homeless is overwhelming. SFC’s on-site Social Services team provides the opportunity for guests to meet one-on-one with staff. Through listening and engaging in conversation, assistance is determined with each guest the next steps to take in the journey to move out of homelessness. Guests come to SFC with a variety of questions and concerns, and needs. The Social Services team can provide assistance with:     Basic orientation to obtaining shelter, food and clothing     Securing bus fare to get to a medical appointment     Assistance in procuring ID’s, birth certificates and Social Security cards     Finding and applying to housing     Assistance with understanding forms, letters and paperwork     Budgeting income from work and/or Social Security     Housing Programs & Services St. Francis Center helps men and women transition out of homelessness and into permanent housing. We operate Cornerstone, a 50 unit housing facility for men and women transitioning out of homelessness and poverty, and Senior Housing for 20 individuals. Beyond helping people physically move into housing, we continue to provide case management and support to ensure that they will be successful. Case managers connect residents with resources such as healthcare, mental healthcare, and substance abuse treatment.

Helpful Definitions For Saint Francis Center:
Day Shelters supplement homeless and low-income people when the shelter their staying in only offers shelter on an overnight basis. Case management is often provided and sometimes there are laundry and shower facilities.  Meals and basic hygiene may also be offered.  Almost all day shelters provide their services free of charge. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows clients to stay during the day is also classified under this category.
