General Information:
If you need immediate housing help, call the shelter at (262) 882-3662.  Twin Oaks Shelter is Walworth County's only 24/7 homeless shelter for families and individuals. Our program helps people move toward economic independence. Twin Oaks Shelter for the Homeless is located in Darien, WI and offers 11 residential units where homeless households can stay up to 60 days. Community Action has operated Twin Oaks since 1992. The shelter relies almost exclusively on private donations, needing over $200,000 annually to continue operations. Each year, the shelter houses as many as 175 individuals with close to 1/2 of those being children. Twin Oaks provides a professional case manager who works with residents in resolving their crisis and finding stable housing. The shelter also offers workshops to build residents’ knowledge and skills in areas such as: employment landlord tenant relationships budgeting alcohol and drug awareness mental health issues   Twin Oaks is open 7 days a week 365 days a year.
