Class of Housing/Services: residential treatment facility that provides intensive substance abuse treatment for adult males.

General Information:
About the program   Since becoming a part of MHSA in 1995, Sullivan House has remained in continuous operation as a 25-bed substance abuse recovery home for adult men struggling with addiction.  The program helps its residents reestablish and maintain a sober lifestyle while renewing their careers and following through on responsibilities to their families and communities.  Sullivan House counselors are specially trained to address the unique needs of clients while employing appropriate, effective and lasting treatment strategies.   Following a two-week orientation process, clients typically spend the next five-and-a-half months working towards a variety of personal and programmatic goals, in accordance with house rules.  While in the program, clients are given referrals to various medical, mental health and other professional service providers, as needed.  Clients also attend AA meetings, group meetings and individual counseling while pursuing or maintaining meaningful employment opportunities.    Upon successful completion of the program, Sullivan House employees assist in placing clients into stable, sober living environments where they can continue to thrive as productive members of their individual networks and communities.   How to participate   Participants must be 18 years or older and are generally referred by an outside service provider (such as a detox program, court or criminal justice program, sober shelter, etc.).  All potential clients must complete an intake process by having their service provider contact the program and speak with staff.     For questions about the intake and admissions process, please contact Sullivan House staff, using the contact information listed above.   Transportation and parking   Sullivan House is accessible via the Green Street subway stop on the MBTA Orange Line.  From the Green Street station, cross over Amory Street and continue walking down Green Street.  Green Street eventually becomes Glen Road, where Sullivan House will be on your right.   Sullivan House is also within walking distance of several MBTA buses, including the 42 bus, which stops at the intersection of Washington Street and Glen Road.  From the bus stop, continue walking down Glen Road for 0.2 miles and Sullivan House will be on your right.   ​   Off-street parking is available from 7:00pm until 7:00am for clients.  Street parking along surrounding streets is available for visitors. Please note that the staff parking lot is for employee use only, and unauthorized vehicles may be towed at their owner's expense.
