Class of Housing/Services: Residential Recovery Program for men.

General Information:
Residential Recovery Program for men. Men who enter our Recovery program work through a structure of classes, training, work assignments, meetings and Christian program which is typically completed in 6-9 months.  Upon graduation from that program, clients are eligible to pursue employment in the community.  They are encouraged to continue to participate in the life of the Rescue Mission, where they can set aside savings, continue to build support inside and outside of the Mission, and get the help they need to overcome any remaining obstacles to living sober, independent lives in the community.  Throughout their experience at the Mission, the men are encouraged to participate in a local church, attend AA/NA/CR meetings, and keep focus on the vision for their future that God has purposed for them. Program Elements     Christian Curriculum  – Each client works through a faith-based curriculum with the help of staff who encourage, nurture and teach the ways of God.  We are committed to the understanding that our deepest need is a relationship with Jesus Christ.  The curriculum is enhanced by Daily Devotions, Small Group Ministry and Evening worship.     On-site Clinical Counseling -  Men in our program may participate in individual or group counseling sessions with graduate students from  Loyola University.  Group classes focus on anger management and other topics that are fundamental to recovery.     Work Therapy – The life of the Mission is characterized by the clients working together to maintain the facility and participate directly in serving others through the Mission’s community assistance ministries.  Each client is assigned to a Work Station on the campus or at our thrift stores, where they receive instruction in areas such as operating equipment, serving the public, or grounds maintenance.  We value the structure and discipline that work requires, and we encourage teamwork to accomplish the many and varied tasks necessary to operate the Mission.     Building Relationships – Each client has a Team Leader and other staff to walk with him through the recovery process and to pour love, encouragement, guidance and support into his efforts to rebuild his life, restore relationships, and move forward in sobriety and holy living.  In addition to these vital coaching relationships, the clients develop close bonds of brotherhood with one another, which provides a level of support that often carries on in the community, once the men have graduated from the program.
