Class of Housing/Services: Sober Living House

General Information:
Our community is committed to ensuring a safe, affordable and quality sober living recovery environment.Since 1997, Middle River Sober Living facilities have been founded on the premise that, by helping other addicts and alcoholics, its members and founders can provide and participate in a more purposeful, meaningful, and spiritual recovery program. Every member of the Middle River Sober Living staff is responsible for helping our clients attain long-term recovery, which, in turn, also encourages our staff to maintain their own recovery. Our sober living facilities are quality homes for men and women at an affordable price. We provide separate homes for the men and women, we are not co-ed. Our halfway house is located less than 1.5 miles outside of downtown Asheville and is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop, easily accessible to public transportation and many places for employment opportunities. We will provide transportation to and from the airport, bus, or train terminal. We will provide linens, towels, pillows, and basic hygiene items for the newcomer. We have Wi-Fi, cable and laundry facilities in-house. We will regularly conduct mandatory alcohol and drug screenings, free of charge. We will make referrals for you, to therapists, counselors, addiction specialists, out-patient programs and more. We will work one-on-one with you and monitor your progress in finding, maintaining, and working with an appropriate sponsor and support group. We will provide one house meeting on-site, every week. Our rooms are $160 per week. Upon move in we require a $320 non refundable entry fee.

Helpful Definitions For Middle River Sober Living:
Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
Oftentimes halfway houses also assist in the treatment of substance abuse and/or alcohol and drug detox. Speak with the halfway house to see if this applies.

As A General Note About ShelterListings.org Listings:
ShelterListings.org does our best to provide listings that are free of cost. Many of the homeless shelters and services are free of charge. Some do charge small fees. We always urge the users of our website to visit the websites of the providers listed, OR give them a phone call to find out complete details.

In furtherance; Halfway Houses, Transitional Housing, and Substance Abuse Treatment Centers for the most part charge a fee. Most of the substance abuse resources we provide are low cost, Medicaid or sliding scale fee. We provide as much information as possible on the website of these locations.

Rooming and Boarding Houses do charge fees. We list them where we find them. They are a nice low cost option for housing.
