Emergency Shelter Length of stay: 30 to 90 days Our emergency shelter and treatment programs provide basic shelter and care to individuals or families in crisis. Short term in nature, shelter programs seek to stabilize clients and prepare them for more independent living arrangements. Catholic Charities Elizabeth Ann Seton Residence (EASR) Operating since 1983, EASR provides up to 45 days of emergency shelter for up to of 44 individuals at any one time. The shelter opens its doors to families of all kinds and serves children, single men, pregnant women, people with disabilities and senior citizens in need of refuge while they rebuild their lives. (562) 388-7670 Veterans Village Recovery CenterVeterans Village Recovery Center The VVRC is a 38 bed, 30 to 90 day intensive substance abuse treatment program for veterans, operated by the Long Beach VA HCS with housing supported by the United States Veterans Initiative. (562) 826-8460 U.S. Vets Veterans In Progress (VIP) VIP is a 70 bed 90 day work re-entry program for unemployed, homeless veterans that have a minimum of 60 days clean and sober if referred from a substance abuse treatment program and 90 days clean and sober if self referred. (562) 200-7310 Hacienda of Hope/HopeWell HopeWell is a peer run program that provides walk-in community resources for adults recovering from mental illness. Hacienda of Hope is a respite care program providing a short-term alternative to hospitalization for adults experiencing a temporary crisis.
