Class of Housing/Services: temporary emergency shelter, meals, transportation, health services and clothing for those housed at SAEHC
Next Move, formerly Sacramento Emergency Housing Center, started in 1972 housing just seven homeless families. We now serves an average of 500 people each day.
Our 55-bed Family Shelter provides short-term emergency housing and supportive services to 13 homeless families for up to 30 days. Support services help people come to terms with the reasons behind their homelessness, obtain resources, secure permanent housing, and develop plans that will help them maintain housing. This is one of only two shelters in Sacramento County that accepts two parent families, single fathers, and sons over the age of 14.
