Class of Housing: emergency shelter and social services for men.

General Information:

Mt. Airy works exclusively with homeless men to provide emergency shelter and social services that help clients solve many of the
problems that have left them with no place to call home. Mt. Airy maintains 65 beds and is occupied at rates greater than 98 per cent. The Center can not accept sexual offenders, arsonists, or men with open felony or misdemeanor warrants.

The average length of stay is about 40 days. Residents leave for a variety of reasons, from giving no explanation at all to finding new housing. About 50 percent leave Mt. Airy for a more stable living
arrangement.

Along with planning & assessment, services include:
- Clothing & laundry
- Limited bus tokens
- Medical van services (via Cincinnati Health
Dept.)
- Foot clinic services (during academic year)
- AA and NA meetings
- Substance Abuse Management Systems
(S.A.M.S.) – a chemical dependency program
sponsored by the Alcoholism Council.
