Apply Monday through Friday 10am- 2pm at 651 MLK Jr. Blvd., Transitional housing provides housing, case management and services for up to 24 months, with the goal of moving participants into permanent housing and helping them to become responsible, self-sufficient members of society.     Provides shelter and assistance to help break the cycle of homelessness and substance abuse     Directs residents to service agencies for help with medical care, job placement and counseling     Empowers residents to take control of their lives to become productive members in the mainstream of society     Keeps families together     8 apartments for single adult males     4 apartments for single adult females     7 for families     Total capacity for 26 adults and 28 children   Jack Steppe Day Life Service Center The Day Life Service Center provides essential services to the homeless and poor in Macon/Middle Georgia

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses.
