General Information:
Midland's Open Door (MOD) provides compassionate help and eternal hope to every individual God brings to our door. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accordance with Scripture nor the values of MOD. MOD subscribes to the following nondiscrimination policy for any persons seeking our services. MOD provides food, shelter, and clothing to persons based on qualifications of need without regard to race, color, national origin or ancestry, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, pregnancy, familial status, height, weight, marital status, disability, or veteran status. MOD's shelter services are for individuals and families who meet the HUD definition of homelessness. In addition, all persons seeking shelter must meet the criteria listed below. MOD Shelter guests: Must be at least 18 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian whom is also seeking shelter;     Cannot have a criminal sexual conduct charge;     Cannot have an open CPS or Foster Care case from another county;     Cannot be on probation in another county;     Must be able to independently care for themselves;     Cannot be intoxicated or visibly under the influence of any illegal substance when seeking shelter; and     Must be a Midland County resident or have a viable family support system in the Midland community. Agency referrals from neighboring counties will be considered on a case-by-case basis if shelters in the perspective client's home community are full.   Restoration Ministry is a phased transitional program lasting 6-18months serving Midland County residents recently released from prison, jail, substance abuse programs and others desiring to change their past patterns of living to become productive members of the community. Eligibility: Prescreened through Open Door Shelter or highly recommended by a representative in the Prison Ministry. Application process: Phone-in. Application required. Personal interview required. Documents required:Some form of identifying documents required. Fees: No fees for services Payment method: Not applicable. Service hours: Mon-Sun 24 hours.
