General Information:
Provides a transitional shelter for abused and neglected mothers and their children. This facility has 20 beds. A maximum length of stay of 30- 45 days and a separate one year program. Provides: housing, food, clothing, counseling, and classes. The Eli Home Shelter Programs work toward the prevention of child abuse and neglect by educating families on more appropriate parenting techniques, increasing self esteem and introducing tools that ensures the families growth towards self sufficiency. Transitional Shelter Transitional Housing for abused children and their mothers. Program includes:     24 hour shelter with staff     Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP)     Social skills, self-esteem, boundaries, respect for others     Healthy child-parent interaction skills     Understanding and dealing with feelings; anger management     Vocational imaging (interviewing skills, job training)     Individual and group counseling     Extended services, e.g., year round and extra holiday assistance     Referral of families to needed services and resources     Assistance with obtaining permanent housing Shared Living Permanent Housing option for clients who have graduated from a shelter program. They are able to participate in extended services such as counseling, case management, budgeting and referrals to outside resources.
