General Information:
Crisis Hotline: 800-211-1188. WISH is a non-profit community-based emergency shelter operating in rural southern Humboldt. We aid and empower women and their children in crisis and/or victims of domestic violence. WISH provides a (community supported) 24-hour crisis line, housing, education about the prevention of family violence, a complete referral service, and more. We provide supportive services and referrals to help you achieve independent living. We help you find: - Permanent housing, medical and mental health treatment, medical and psychological counseling. - Substance abuse treatment and counseling. - Federal, state and local assistance including mental health benefits, medical assistance, income support assistance and child care. We provide: - A personalized action plan to achieve self-empowerment. - Transportation to services. - Employment counseling. - Drug abuse education. - Nutritional counseling. - Parenting education. - Court advocacy and help with temporary restraining orders.
