General Information:
Halfway house for men and women. Substance abuse treatment services. Inpatient and outpatient. Group Residential Housing eligibility available. Bell Hill Recovery Center is a private, non-profit rehabilitation facility located 6 miles north of Wadena, Minnesota.  We have been providing long term chemical dependency services to adult males and females since 1973.  Our inpatient treatment program is relapse-based and can serve 20 males over 18 years of age.  In addition, we offer a Board and Lodge for males and females that provides a safe, chemically free living environment.  Situated on 47 acres in rural central Minnesota, the campus includes Dormitory style resident halls, Dining Room, Recreation Center, Gymnasium, Hobby Shop, TV Lounge, group rooms and offices. Please spend some time perusing our site for more detailed information about our facility.   Referrals to the Bell Hill Treatment Program or Board and Lodge can be initiated by the County Case Manager or funding source.  Criteria for admission to either program is that a client is chemically dependent, ambulatory and able to perform daily care activities, and funding has been established through the State and/or client.  To better treat the client, information is obtained from the referrent regarding their chemical use history and background information.  Interviews with perspective clients is not necessary.  When it has been determined that this is an appropriate referral and funding has been secured, arrangements are made for the client to enter Bell Hill.  Transportation is provided, free of charge, to all admissions.  Treatment services are funded by Rule 25 Consolidated Treatment Fund; Board and Lodge services are funded by GRH (Group Residential Housing) and/or client's income. This residential program provides a safe, sober environment for individuals who have a history of continued chemical use after numerous treatment exposures.  These clients have shown an inability to maintain sobriety outside of a structured environment.  Each Lodge client has the opportunity to be involved in a limited work program, AA/NA groups, spiritual study groups, GED tutoring, and numerous on and off grounds activities.  The Bell Hill Lodge consists of 9 female and 64 male beds, and clients are assigned a staff person to assist them with issues that arise throughout their stay. Full-time nursing staff and CD Technicians address medical needs and monitor and dispense all medications.
