General Information:
The Aiken SC Housing Authority provides low income housing assistance along with public housing, section 8 vouchers and general housing support for Aiken SC residents. The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Aiken is to assist low-income families with safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities in a non-discriminatory manner as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives. The Housing Authority is committed to operating in an efficient, ethical, and professional manner. The Housing Authority will create and maintain partnerships with its clients and appropriate community agencies in order to accomplish this mission. The Housing Authority also has a 'Center of Excellence' which provides residents trainging and assistance in computer skills, internet competency. This will help with creating job skills for the community. Unfortunately the Housing Assistance waiting list for Section 8 has been closed since 2001. When the waiting list is reopened a public notice will be made. * Note: Even though the waiting lists are closed, if you need emergency housing in Aiken, please call for assistance. The employees can help guide you in the right direction for help.
