Class of Housing/Services: Community Shelter for men and women

General Information:
The Union County Community Shelter exists to provide reliable shelter support for adult men and women.  We do this through the following services.  Please click on them to learn more. - Residential Shelter Program - Family Motel Program - Community Cafe - Hope Pantry - Community Closet - Case Management Services - Emergency Winter Shelter Program The Union County Community Shelter provides a safe, drug and alcohol free living facility for over one hundred fifty individuals per year. We offer an environment conducive to economical, societal and personal growth. Via our “Six Plus Care Program”, we offer clients the opportunity to reside at the shelter for six months and participate in case management, budgeting and life skills programs.  Clients are given extensions to this program based on their participation. Non-residents may also receive the same ancillary services. The Family Motel Program enables us to place a family into a local motel for a period of time based on their need and our resources. These clients receive the same ancillary services as our in-house residents. In addition to these services the Union County Community Shelter has partnered with Community Link of Charlotte, NC to provide rapid rehousing assistance to our clients. The Union County Community Shelter operates an Emergency Winter Shelter for the indigent population. Our program runs from October 15th until April 30th. The doors open at 7:00pm until 9:00am to any person if the temperature is 32° (freezing) or below. We will also allow entry should the temperature hit 40° and it is raining. The only other requirement for entry is all participants must be civil and adhere to Shelter policy.
