Public Housing Bridgeport Housing Authority's suppy of housing includes nearly 2,600 public housing equivalent units - apartments that serve low income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Responding to a growing need for affordable housing, as well as a reduction of federal funds, BHA is diversifying its portfolio and developing new housing opportunities for low and moderate income citizens. Section 8 Program Information for Section 8 Tenants Find out more about BHA's Family Self Sufficiency Program The Authority is responsible for administering the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Program participants pay 30% of their adjusted income toward the fair market rent for their unit size.
