General Information:
The Evart Housing Commission offers low income Public housing and the Section 8 voucher program. The Evart Housing Commision provides assistance based on 30% of annual income to families, seniors, and single adults. Our complex for our Public Housing apartments are located next to the Evart Elementary School, four blocks from the Evart Middle school, and walking distance to the downtown area. Our goal is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low income familes.  Section 8 The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher was designed to provide rental assistance to households who are qualified and eligible to receive it. The program is federally regulated and funded through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Rental Assistance payments are made by the Evart Housing Commission to participating property owners on a monthly basis to cover all or a portion of the rent due for the tenants who are active participants in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The objective of the program is to provide affordable, decent, safe, and sanitary housing to low income residents.
