General Information:
The HHA provides homes for low-income families and individuals. Those who meet income requirements are selected in accordance with the Hammond Housing Authority Occupancy Policy. Public Housing Turner Park 80 townhouses ranging from 2 bedrooms to 4 bedrooms. –     Rent is based on 30% of monthly income, choice or ceiling rents. –     Residents pay their own gas/electric and a monthly allowance is deducted from the gross rent formula. –     Hammond Housing provides weekly lawn service and semi-annual trimming of trees, bushes, etc. –     Residents can participate in the Resident Organization Group. –     Off duty police officers are employed by the Housing Authority for the Community Policing. Hubert Humphrey High-Rise Building 118 apartments ranging from studios to 1 bedrooms.  These apartments are reserved for people who are seniors, near elderly (50 years or older), and those who are handicap or disabled.  Children are not allowed to reside in the building. –     Rent is based on 30% of monthly income. –     All utilities are included. –     Coin-operated laundry facilities for residents of the building. –     Residents can participate in the Resident Organization Group. –     Off duty police officers are employed by the Housing Authority for the Community Policing. –     All apartments and common areas are newly remodeled. –     New private patio/garden with gazebo.
