General Information:
Carrfour is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1993 by the Homeless Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to provide permanent housing and supportive services to maximize the self-sufficiency of the formerly homeless in Miami-Dade County and other cities in Florida through joint ventures with various non-profit organizations. Individuals who meet the following criteria are welcome to complete an application and be placed on our waiting list: Tenants must be able to live independently and harmoniously in this setting, participating in the supportive services offered. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and: Qualify as homeless under the U.S. HUD definition; Qualify as having a disability under the US HUD definition (this requirement only applies to 35 of the 70 units); Meet the project income requirement; Satisfactorily pass a drug screening; Have a history indicating ability to live in harmony with others and abstain from drugs and alcohol and; Have a history indicating commitment to paying rent and other obligations on time. Projects operating and underway will provide 800 units of affordable housing for approximately 1000 people. Ultimately, Carrfour plans to develop at least 1,500 units of supportive housing in Miami-Dade County. This represents approximately 50% of the unmet need for supportive housing units in this area according to the Continuum of Care Needs Analysis generated by a multi-agency survey effort in Miami-Dade County.
