General Information:
Provides permanent Housing for Homeless Men. Gateway House provides long-term, permanent housing for single men who are willing/ready to address the issues that caused or contributed to their being homeless. Single bedrooms are rented on an SRO plan. Each room is part of a two or three person apartment, residents share kitchen, living/dining, and bathroom areas. McKinney Act Section 8 funds are used to assist with the rent payment - applicants must have some form of income (employment, SSA/SSI, VA, General Assistance, etc.), their homelessness must be attested to by a social service agency, and proper identification is required. Each individual will pursue a Personal Development Plan utilizing community-based services and resources in order to overcome the issues that caused him to be homeless. A Service Coordinator will assist and encourage each resident. Residents are expected to stay drug and alcohol free both on and off the premises while a resident; community living involves respect for others; all residents are asked to abide by an 11 p.m. curfew (exceptions readily given for employment, family, church, and personal business).
