General Information:
The RESIDENCE: Ferhust welcomes all women, including travelers, neighbor island guests, and international and local students. Join us for a community living experience that is comfortable, safe and affordable. We feature clean, secure women's residence with 24-hour electronic access, daily breakfast and dinner included, Internet access and telephone in each room, free computer lab with high-speed Internet, weekly linen service, friendly staff (some live on-site), quiet, residential neighborhood. Activities include pizza and movie nights and barbecues. Fernhurst offers nightly accommodations. Each of our 40 rooms is fully furnished with two single beds, bureaus and lockable closets. Every two rooms share an adjoining bathroom. A limited number of handicap-accessible rooms are available. The PROGRAM: Home Base helps women advance toward economic independence. Women who meet program selection criteria may enroll in the Home Base program which includes lodging at Fernhurst at a reduced rate. Women with children can be accommodated (male children up to 11 years of age). Fees may apply for this Transitional Housing resource. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses.
