General Information:
Gateway Assessment Center is the first step in getting into "Ada's Place" emergency housing for homeless families.  Families on the waiting list receive weekly case management and some support services. Once housed at 'Ada's Place',  participants are allowed to stay for 50 days and  receive case managment services to assist in securing stable, long-term housing. Gateway Assessment Center may provide emergency, short-term shelter. Contact the Salvation Army or YWCA during weekday business hours or the Missoula Police Department or Poverello Center afterhours, holidays and weekends. If participants don't comply during waiting period, must reapply and start waiting period over. Fees may apply for this Transitional Housing resource. Contact Gateway Assessment Center with the contact information we provided to get full details. Oftentimes you can apply for sliding scale fee payment or other options if you are low income. You will need to speak with them to see if you qualify.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses.
