If You Need Shelter We will do our best to accommodate everyone who needs a place to stay. However, space is limited and we may need to provide information about alternative shelter programs. Men: Men seeking shelter should come to our downtown campus (705 Drexel Street) and speak to a staff member for instructions. The Winter Shelter help desk opens at 3:30 pm, 7 days a week, with a staff member available to answer any questions. Orientation is offered 7 days a week at 4:00 pm for anyone who is new to Room In The Inn Winter Shelter. Women: To participate in the shelter program, women must attend the Women's Draw at 11:30 am, Monday-Friday.   Transitional Housing Room In The Inn offers transitional residency programs for veterans and individuals seeking recovery. Our staff works with other agencies around Nashville to provide on-going support that focuses on employment, education, sobriety, mental health, and permanent housing. Participants in our transitional programs are provided workforce development opportunities as interns in different programs around our campus, including our Meal Program, Clancey’s Café, and the Winter Shelter Program. We intend for each of these services to offer participants a sense of stability that will allow for a smooth transition into permanent housing. Permanent Housing We encourage participants to meet with our support coordinators, who connect individuals to resources for housing. Participants can schedule one-on-one meetings or attend biweekly housing readiness classes that prepare them to transition successfully from homelessness into housing. On average, 2-3 people obtain housing through appointments with our support coordinators each week. In addition to these services, our downtown campus includes 38 efficiency apartments and ongoing case management for residents. This program allows us to offer an uninterrupted on-site path from the streets to permanent supportive housing, thus directly connecting emergency services with long-term solutions. Welcome Home Baskets provide basic household supplies for these individuals. Finally, we invite all former participants who move into housing to participate in weekly community dinners and aftercare sessions, which are led by Room In The Inn staff.
