General Information:
Carroll House Men's Shelter in Silver Spring provides transitional housing for 32 homeless men. This facility offers case management and referrals to help residents gain independent living skills. Case managers provide clinical assessments and connect the men with housing, medical, mental health and social services that enable them to work toward self-sufficiency. The shelter also provides donated breakfasts and dinners for the men, as well as access to kitchen and laundry facilities.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses.
