General Information:
My Sister’s Place Lodge is a transitional housing program for homeless women of Baltimore City who have been diagnosed with a disability. The Lodge provides a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing environment where our residents can increase their self-esteem and develop the skills necessary to successfully transition into the community once they complete the program. The primary goal of the program is to assist our residents in becoming developing life skills that prepare them to successfully live in permanent housing. We provide housing and supportive services at the Lodge where our residents benefit from 24-hour staff availability. In this peaceful and encouraging setting, residents can increase their self-reliance and develop the skills necessary to be successful members of the community. We realize that a person’s living environment plays an important role in providing a sense of wellness. We are always working to make the environment as warm and home-like as possible. We help the women make the transition to permanent housing by providing intensive case management, life skills workshops and social activities.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.
