Review the details below: The mission of Fred Finch Youth Center is to provide a continuum of high-quality mental-health, education, and social-service programs for children, young adults and families throughout California. The goal is for clients to be professionally served in the least-restrictive environment appropriate to their needs, so they may function at their highest potential. To achieve this, Fred Finch Youth Center has become a national leader in providing innovative and effective care for youth with severe emotional disturbances and developmental disabilities. Founded as an orphanage in 1891, Fred Finch Youth Center began to offer residential therapeutic programs for children and youth in the 1950's. In the past ten years we have dramatically expanded our community-based programs to serve more youth and families throughout Northern California. Today, the agency offers a variety of programs for over 1100 youth and families annually. Fred Finch Youth Center serves some of California's most needy youth, include young people ages 4-24 with psychiatric disorders, many of whom have been physically, mentally, and emotionally abused and removed from their homes, communities, and schools. We also serve transition-age youth emancipating from foster care and residential treatment facilities, and those who have experienced homelessness.
