Class of Housing/Services: Transitional Housing ex offenders only, Non Profit Organization

General Information:
Mission: To provide comprehensive transitional assistance to inmates re-entering society, while reducing the inordinately high recidivism rate (rate at which ex-offenders get re-arrested) and reducing the volume of criminal activity attributed to ex-offenders. Turnaround Village is a Christian ministry, registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with headquarters in Covington, LA and a transitional facility located outside of Bogalusa, LA in Washington Parish. The ministry is funded solely through the gifts of individuals, churches, foundations and corporations. TurnAround Village, LTD., is a faith based, 501(C) (3) non-profit facility that transitions ex-offenders back into society and reduces recidivism.  Together with our founder, Reverend Blaine Gravel we minister into the lives of men that are accepted into this program. Our current priority at Turn Around Village is to help men coming out of prison attain the necessary life skills that enable them to become self- supporting tax payers versus tax burdens.   Our process increases their self-esteem and moves them toward becoming productive members of the community.   We mentor these men according to Spiritual Truths at no charge to their family members, just a commitment to the program. All of our residents release from a period of incarceration and come directly to Turn Around Village from one of the many State facilities in the Louisiana penal system. Most of our clients have been pre-screened by prison social workers, Chaplain’s offices, and the Turn Around Village Staff prior to their release. Locally, TurnAround Village was privileged to work with the Warden and Chaplain of the Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie, LA, to birth a 66-bed “Faith and Character” based dorm in the prison. The men in this program are each mentored on a weekly basis of various aspects of life targeted toward preparing them for their release. Fees may apply for this Transitional Housing resource. Contact Turn Around Village Ltd with the contact information we provided to get full details. Oftentimes you can apply for sliding scale fee payment or other options if you are low income. You will need to speak with them to see if you qualify.
