Emma Norton Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to women, children, and families achieving victory over homelessness, mental illness, and chemical dependency. Emma Norton offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of single adults and families. To learn more about any of these program offerings, call 651.224.1329 or email: intake@emmanorton.org Housing for Single Adults Emma Norton Residence, located in Saint Paul near downtown and the state capital, offers permanent supportive housing to 50 single women under Housing First and Harm Reduction best practices, as well as scattered site single adult housing out in the community with access to support services. Clients partner with case managers and support staff to individually set and accomplish goals towards achieving independence and self-sufficiency. Housing for Families Emma's Place, located in Maplewood, offers on-site permanent supportive housing to 13 single parents with three or more children, as well as scattered site families housing out in the community with access to support services. Parents partner with case managers and support staff to develop their own goals and to find resources to achieve them. Kids ages birth up to 18 benefit from age appropriate social, emotional and academic program offerings. Supportive Programming SOAR, which stands for Social Security Outreach, Access and Recovery Technical Assistance, is a national program designed to increase access to disability income benefits programs administered by the United States Social Security Administration for eligible adults who are experiencing or are at risk for homelessness and have a mental illness, medical impairment, and/or a co-occurring substance abuse disorder. Clients partner with a SOAR advocate who assists them in their claim to receive disability income. ARMHS, which stands for Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services, provides mental health supports which are rehabilitative and enable the recipient to develop and enhance psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living and community skills. Clients partner with an ARMHS practitioner to establish and work toward a variety of goals including medication education and monitoring, and basic social and living skills in mental illness symptom management, household management, employment, or transitioning to community living.
