This is a Non Profit Organization that provides Transitional Housing. Review the details below: The mission of West Valley Community Services (WVCS) is to encourage the sharing of community resources; to provide basic human needs in a caring and dignified environment; and to provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in WVCS's activities. West Valley Community Services programs and services are offered comprehensively under one roof and are free of charge to all eligible clients.  We also provide helpful information and referral to our clients in collaboration with other human service agencies in the community. Our services can be broken down into three categories: Health: Providing access to food and nutrition services Home: Providing shelter and housing assistance Heart: Providing family support and emergency assistance Eligibility Requirements All clients seeking services must meet the following eligibility requirements     Live in WVCS services area     Income verification     Verify number of people in the household     Current California driver license or identification     Additional documents per program requirement WVCS serves clients living in the following cities (which are subject to change): Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and the surrounding mountain regions. Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
