Class of Housing: Transitional Housing resources. They have a list of locations for transitional housing.
Transition Projects provides people with the resources and tools they need to end their homelessness and maintain housing. Helping people meet their basic needs-shelter, clothing, food, cleanliness-is the bedrock of what we do. Once someone has met their basic needs, they can build the skills they need to transition to housing-goal setting, job skills, life skills, overcoming barriers to housing and income. Our programs include: Barbara Maher Building - Thirty-two units of supportive housing for women in recovery.
The Clark Center - A 90-bed short-term residential program for men that provides the supports needed to move out of homelessness. The Clark Center features an on-site computer lab, mental health counseling, life skills, and case management. Stays are up to four months.
The Clark Center Annex - Twenty-two units of permanent supportive housing for men. The Day Center at the Bud Clark Commons - The front door to the agency, the Day Center provides showers, clothing, laundry, access to residential program waiting lists, information and referral, mail, a message service, identification assistance, a computer lab, a hair salon, and housing assistance to homeless persons. Doreen's Place - A 90-bed short-term residential program for men, featuring: case management, life skills, mental health counseling, and an on-site fitness room. Stays are up to four months. Mentor Program - Provides opportunities for people who are formerly homeless to develop their skills by assisting others. The Mentor Program provides social service training and leadership development for graduates of our housing programs. Safety off the Streets Shelter - A 70-bed emergency shelter for women. Housing Services - Providing housing assistance, supportive services, a special outreach program for homeless women, and services to help people maintain their housing. Housing Services also provides eviction prevention, rental assistance, and case management for people on our shelter waiting lists. Veterans Services - Veterans Services assists veterans and their families from homelessness to housing. Serving four counties, the program offers emergency beds, housing assistance, supportive services, and assistance maintaining housing.
Jean's Place - A 60-bed program for women. Jean's Place was the first program of its kind for women in Portland. It features an education and employment center, mental health counseling, case management, and life skills. The program includes the opportunity to lease a room at Jean's Place while rebuilding rental histories. Stays are up to three months.
