Class of Housing: Agency that provides HUD Approved Housing Assistance Programs

General Information:
The IMPACT! Group is nonprofit agency that provides a full range of housing aid to the residents of Gwinnett County and northeast Georgia. Based in Norcross, GA , we are proud to partner with a number of agencies, businesses, and individuals to help families in need avoid or overcome homelessness in our community. The IMPACT! Group operates two core divisions that help families in different stages of need. IMPACT! Transitional Housing provides subsidized housing and intensive case management to homeless families with children. The program is designed to give families the skills, time, and resources needed to permanently address the causes of their homelessness. The IMPACT! Homeownership Center provides classes and free housing counseling to both homeowners and potential homebuyers. Our HUD-trained housing counselors work with families that are in danger of foreclosure or who are seeking to responsibly buy a home to help them navigate their options.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
