Class of Housing/Services: Agency that provides HUD Approved Housing Assistance Programs

General Information:
Office hours: Mondays through Fridays 8:30am to 4:30pm.  The Ocala Housing Authority (OHA) owns and operates 186 Public Housing units within the city limits,   providing subsidized housing to eligible families. Our Public Housing Communities consist of Deer Run -seventy-six (76) units, Pavilion Oaks – forty (40) units, Pine Gardens – twenty (20) units and Shady Hollow – fifty (50) units.  The occupancy team works closely with our maintenance team to turn units around quickly to provide housing to another eligible family off our waiting list.  Together the teams provide safe, decent and sanitary housing for our residents.   Our goal is to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing.  The public housing staff thoroughly screens prospective residents and strictly enforces our One Strike Policy to ensure that our families are living in safe communities.   Our maintenance staff ensures decent housing by maintaining units through work orders and preventative maintenance.   Staff monitors housekeeping to ensure that our residents are maintaining the homes to meet the Ocala Housing Authority’s sanitary standards.   Not only does the Ocala Housing Authority providing housing to our residents but also the opportunity for self sufficiency through our Resident Services Department.  The two departments work closely together to provide our families with the resources and tools needed to become self sufficient.
