The National Mentoring Partnership Estimates That Mentored Teens Are 46% Less Likely To Try Or Use Drugs And 27% Less Likely To Initiate Alcohol Use. The Joint Prince Georges County/Montgomery County Gang Prevention Task Force Report (9/14/04) Recommends Mentoring As A Major Intervention Focusing On Youth At Risk, And Urges County Institutions And Organizations To Provide Assistance To Groups Doing Mentoring.
