General Information:
Bridge Over Troubled Waters enables at-risk and homeless youth to achieve a healthy and productive adulthood through prevention, intervention and education services. STREET OURTREACH Bridge Outreach workers reach out to young people in Boston at the Boston Common, Downtown Crossing, South Station, North Station, the Greenway, Copley Square, Chinatown, in Harvard Square and Central Square in Cambridge. On Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:30pm visit homeless shelter including Pine St. Inn, Pilgrim, Shattuck, Woods-Mulen and Long Island. RUNAWAY SERVICES Bridge Over Troubled Waters will response and assist adolescents wherever and whenever they call. Minors could stay at Bridge up to 72 hours without parental permission. TRANSITIONAL DAY PROGRAM This program is for homeless young people that can get a hot meal, take a shower, do laundry, and obtain case manager services.

Emergency Homeless Shelters both provide short term relief for the homeless and low income persons. Usually there is a maximum stay of 3 months or less. Many of these shelters ask their clients to leave during the day. Meals and other supportive services are often offered. 3 times out of 5 these shelters offer their services free of charge.
