Class of Housing/Services: supportive housing, housing referrals

General Information:
 The mission of SRHAC is to assist single Chicago residents threatened with homelessness and to promote the viability of single-room occupancy (SRO) buildings as a vital low-income housing resource.   We fulfill this mission by: (1) Coordinating the efforts of agency providers, government services, and SRO operators; (2) Placing needy individuals into SRO housing; and (3) Providing case management supportive services to help formerly homeless individuals stay permanently housed. SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAMS SRHAC's Supportive Housing Program, funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, provides permanent supportive housing to homeless and disabled men and women. Housing Referrals     SRHAC provides housing referrals and homelessness intervention services to Chicago area individuals city-wide, and assists social service providers and City agencies with information and expertise gained from many years of operating successful intervention programs.     SRHAC is a proud contributor to the City's 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness, and has assists hundreds of individuals annually to secure and maintain permanent housing units.
